With the blessing of His Grace Bishop George, Bishop of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand, the St John of Kronstadt Academy officially opened on 22 January 2024 and is Australia's first classical Orthodox school and first Orthodox school in the Brisbane region.
On 2 June 2023, the Academy received formal accreditation from the Qld Non-State Schools Accreditation Board to operate grades Preparatory to Year 6. In 2024, the Academy opened to grades Prep-3, and will add a grade each subsequent year.
The Academy aims to provide our children with a classical Orthodox curriculum that will nurture the child's soul, mind and body, develop Orthodox wisdom and virtue and will be steeped in Orthodox faith and liturgical tradition.
Enrolments for the 2025 school year open on 1 March 2024 and will be for Preparatory to Year 4. Applications can be made here.
The Academy is located at 13/2120 Logan Road, Upper Mount Gravatt (direct access is from Palmdale Lane).

Shaping the loves of our students is our prime objective and that starts and ends with love for God as revealed through His church: Father, Son and Holy Spirit and love for our neighbour made in the image and likeness of God.
To provide a traditional Orthodox classical education in order to develop true Christian wisdom and virtue, to nourish the soul and mind of the person, to develop lifelong learners and thinkers who contribute to church and society and who love God with their whole being.
The Academy will serve Orthodox families and the broader Christian community of the Brisbane region through a classical Christian curriculum from Preparatory to year 12 with a focus on the liberal arts, the great books, the study of Latin and Greek, instruction in the Orthodox Christian faith and liturgical services.
The Academy will provide a truly Christian environment with classically focused teachers and classrooms, an emphasis on working closely with parents and children, and on the interconnectivity of all things in God’s creation. The aim is to fully enculturate the whole child while structuring the child’s learning around the liturgical year.
